The Lute Society of America North Carolina Chapter and SaSa Sounds presents: “Pluck Lot Fest” A Pot luck for Lute and Classical Guitar players. A Saturday filled with masterclasses, ensemble playing, open mics, fellowship, food and concerts.

  • ​Players of any age and at any level that own a lute, vihuela or baroque or classical guitar.

  • Attendees are welcome to join online or in person.

  • Additional instruments will be available.

  • Auditors and Early Music enthusiasts.

PLUCK LOT FEST: Saturday 01/17th/2026: 

Location: St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 403 East Main St. Durham, NC 27701

  • 8:30-9:00 a.m. set up

  • 9:00 a.m. Participants Welcome: meet and greet, instrument share, tuning, ensemble confirmation (ensembles organized in advance), orientation. Coffee/Tea and pastries provided. Placing lunch orders for catering/bring your own.

  • 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Instruments exhibition supervised by SaSa, Craig Wiggins and Caroline Usher

  • 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. SaSa and Laudon Schuett Technical warm up. Introducing the Youtube Series, Methods, Graded Repertoire. 

  • 10:00-11:30  a.m. Laudon Schuett’s Master Class for Lute players.

  • 10:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Colin Fullerton’s lecture: Playing Renaissance music in the Classical Guitar.

  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. Colin Fullerton’s Master Class for Classical Guitarists.

  • 11:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Lutes and Guitars collide: A conversation with Laudon Schuett and Colin Fullerton. 

  • 12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch. Catering available for purchase/bring your own.

  • 1:00-2:00 p.m. Hybrid Pluck Lot Social. In person participants interact with in person and online participants.

  • 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mixed Ensemble. Led by SaSa. All levels and instruments are welcome.

  • 2:00-3:00 p.m. Jocelyn Nelson’s lecture. The Instruments and Composers (adapt to study rep)(with AV)

  • 3:00-4:00 p.m. Coffee Break.

  • 4:00-6:00 p.m. Faculty Concert. Fullerton, Shipe, Schuett, Swenberg, Usher, Wiggins and SaSa combined forces. Open to the public and streamed.
